When we were a young, broke and hopelessly in love newly married couple, I surprised Chuck on our first anniversary with a little photoshoot in our then-hometown of Pittsburgh. It was something spontaneous, and truthfully, was more for my benefit. But I wanted to capture that season in our lives and I'm so glad I did, because it's kind of become this wonderful tradition in our marriage. We've been married five years this month and we've had our pictures taken every year since that inaugural Pittsburgh photoshoot.
Our sister-in-law picked up photography as a hobby a couple years ago and has taken pictures for us a few times including Crosby's gender reveal and pregnancy photoshoot. In the small amount of time that I've watched her learn and hone her craft, I'm so impressed with how far she's come. She may be an amateur, but our pictures this year are among my favorites ever! (It also doesn't hurt that she does baller hair and makeup and made me look like a total babe). So, Ashlee, if you're reading this, you're amazing and you should probably plan to take our anniversary pictures from here on out...
