Mothers' Day 2017

Yesterday was my third mothers' day which seems absolutely insane to me. It's so true what they say, the days are long, but the years are short. On Saturday afternoon I went for a baby-free excursion to do some window shopping in Target. There was a Mama with the teeny, tiniest little newborn and I had to do a double-take because I had completely forgotten that Crosby was ever that small! He's now 8 months old and will most likely be a full-fledged toddler when I wake up tomorrow.

We didn't have any kind of plan for this Mothers' Day. Chuck let me call the shots, so I opted for breakfast at Bob Evans and a hike with the whole family. Since Chuck has been working two jobs and his family tends to suck up his remaining evening time, I do a lot of solo parenting during the week. Between my two part-time jobs, I work every Saturday. So Chuck and I, quite simply, don't see much of each other and when we do we're exhausted and not exactly spending quality time together. It's very much a "ships passing in the night" kind of situation

All I wanted was some quality time spent as a whole family, and let me tell you- it was the BEST day. My hubby totally delivered and it was my favorite Mothers' Day to date.

Chuck wore Crosby in our BABYBJORN Baby Carrier and I wore Charlie on my back in our Ergobaby Baby Carrier. I thought wearing the kids on our backs would tire us quickly, but it was honestly just like carrying a backpack and the boys both did great! We did a full five miles altogether and I was so proud of all four of us- Crosby was completely spent by the time we were done, but was such a trooper. We decided afterward that we need to make this an every weekend event because we had so much fun!
