I'm Back, Bitches!!!

"I'm back, bitches" being an expression, of course. An expression that I totally cannot pull off. It's so hard to start writing again when there are a million and one things that have happened since I last hit "publish." As a matter of fact, that last aforementioned post was published on September 4. Meaning, it's been over two weeks. For two weeks this blog has sat neglected, with nary a guest post, book update, or even link-up in sight. (Can we talk about the fact that I somehow just managed to sneak the word "nary" into this post?)

So to catch everyone up to speed, here are a few things that have happened in the last two weeks:

I did a flat lay- does this make me a real blogger now?

Saturday, September 5: Packing, packing, and more packing. Oh, and did I mention? Packing.

Sunday, September 6: Rented a truck and essentially stood back and watched as Chuck and his two brothers transported all of our heavy items from old house to new house. Slept like a baby.

Monday, September 7: Chuck volunteered to clean the old house while I unpacked the new house. Please let the record show that being the good wife that I am, I asked him if he was sure about tackling such a suck-tastic job (his Mom did help, too) sans me. He assured me that he was up for it, thus securing his medal for Husband of the Year.

Tuesday, September 8: Drove approximately 7 roundtrip hours to a meeting on the other side of the state...and didn't fall asleep at the wheel. #winning

Wednesday, September 9: Fell asleep at 8pm.

Thursday, September 10: Left work early to accompany Chuck to an appointment for a minor surgery. He had an infection and was sent home with  prescription for antibiotics and instructions to make another appointment to do the actual surgery. Sigh.

Friday, September 11: Hosted a training for work. Which means nothing to anyone else aside from my colleagues, but hey, it's worth mentioning for me.

Saturday, September 12: Made a family field trip to Lowe's to buy curtains (which have yet to be hung) and parts to install our washer and dryer (which has been installed, but is not yet working so the "Laundry Day" underwear is coming out...).

Sunday, September 13: For the first time in about a million years, Chuck actually had a daytime gig that Charlie and I got to attend! I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before on my blog, but Chuck plays the drums in a band with his two eldest brothers and so Plain Folk Cafe was overflowing with Stuckert babies.

Monday, September 14: Took the day off for a doctor's appointment that I wound up sleeping through. Charlie and I went for a long walk with Charlie's Aunt Ashlee and cousin Lucie on a local bike trail and had so much fun that we decided to drive to the nearby outlet mall and walk around for several more hours. We had such a great day and promptly decided that we needed to make it a regular occurrence.

Tuesday, September 15: Aunt Ashlee had an appointment and couldn't watch Charlie so he spent the day with his babysitter and I got to leave work early to pick him up and spent the rest of the afternoon with him. Snuggles for days. We also got our Third Anniversary/New House photoshoot pictures back from our friend and photographer extraordinaire. So yeah, a massive photo dump will obviously be happening tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Wednesday, September 16: I was in a gleeful mood all day because... 100 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!! Chuck decided we need to install Dish in our new house. I protested (I don't like having the temptation to loaf around the house and watch reality TV for hours on end), but he insisted that it would keep him home more often (as opposed to watching football with his guys). I still wasn't sold, and then he reminded me, we would have ABC Family. AKA: 25 Days of Christmas. Well played, husband. Well played.

Thursday & Friday, September 17-18: I popped my headphones in, scheduled "Do Not Disturb" time on my Outlook calendar and spent both days trying to catch up on my serious work backlog. Still behind, but definite progress was made. Hooray!

Saturday, September 19: Stocked up on loads of veggies at our Farmer's Market and then spent (what felt like) the rest of our day in a dealership getting Chuck a new car. You may or may not remember me crashing his car two days before Charlie's due date. Well yeah, we are just now getting that car replaced. We are so thankful to Chuck's Dad for loaning us his car for the last several months so Chuck could get to work while we caught up financially from my maternity leave.

Sunday, September 20: We wore matching outfits, Family Reunion-ed and then headed to our favorite place in Ohio- Branstrator Farm. We picked up pumpkins and a bale of straw to decorate our front porch and then headed home so Charlie and I could rest and Daddy could watch the Bengals. Who Dey!

I think you could say we've managed to keep ourselves occupied these last couple weeks. Just reading that back, I have no idea how I'm functioning right now. But having my very own blogging nook in my very own house, certainly helps...
