In case you've been living under a rock these last two months, something incredible has begun taking over the blog world: the Literary Junkies blogger book club. I've been having so much fun linking up every month to share my favorite books and engaging in bookwormy shenanigans with some awesome blogger ladies.
Check out co-host, Lesley's guest post last week to learn more!
Here are this month's questions:
1. Which book could you read over and over? Why?
I rarely re-read books if I can help it. I've really been wanting to re-read the Harry Potter series lately, though. I'm pretty sure To Kill a Mockingbird is the only book I've ever voluntarily read more than once.
2. If you could be any character from any book you've read, who would you be?
I know Eat. Pray. Love isn't a novel, but I would trade lives with Liz Gilbert in a heartbeat. Eating nothing but carbs for four months, meditating and praying in an Indian ashram and then falling in love with Bali as your backdrop? Are you kidding me?!
3. Do you ever put a book down because you just can't get into it? Or do you stick it out to the bitter end? Any examples?
All the freaking time. When you work as much as I do, reading, is usually not high on the to-do list, unfortunately. So when I do hunker down to dive into a book, it has to capture my attention or it'll likely just put me to sleep.
4. Show us your book shelves!
Do you have one designated spot in your house for all your books? Do you scatter them around?
The top shelf is all hubby's books. Second shelf is mine. Third shelf is entirely devoted to cookbooks and foodie books. The hidden shelves underneath are a mish mash of old college textbooks, a yearbook or two and books that didn't really have a place.
The "love you more" sign was a Christmas present from Hubby that I haven't actually figured out what to do with yet and on top is our marriage license, rain water from our wedding day and a small collage from my Uganda days.
This Target shelf will do for now, but I can't wait to have a house we can completely inundate with books!

it's funny but a few people listed eat, pray, love as one of their least favorite books... and i agree. BUT it would be awesome to have her life and to have experienced that amazing year!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen people say they didn't like Eat.Pray.Love. I have it on my TBR list. Hmmmm...but I do think that would be fun to be her character. What fun experiences! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us!!
omg, the rain water from your wedding day is sooo sweet! Is that my box-o-books on the bottom shelf? haha
ReplyDeleteYep...that's totally your box o' books. Lol I've picked them up multiple times, but then something else steal my attention and I never end up reading them. Lame :/
DeleteThe rain water was a wedding gift! Coolest thing ever.
