My Dream Home

While perusing through Pinterest last night, I stumbled upon the most awesome thing ever.

The premise of this company is to create and sell building plans for small, simple and eco-friendly houses. Now I don't talk much about simple living on my blog, which is silly. Because I'm a huge proponent of simple, intentional living. Witnessing extreme poverty and coming back home to a country of luxury and extravagance was jarring. Just another Uganda life lesson :)

Anywho, I immediately showed Chuck my brand spankin' new idea for our dream home and we both began enthusiastically planning where we'd build it, our friends we'd hire to help out and just imagining finally putting down roots.

I'm pretty sure I envision my dream home more than I dreamed about my wedding day. In the spirit of living in a dream world, welcome to my home.

Both the house and floorplan are the B-53 plan from Tumbleweed!

Bed built into the wall for all our kiddos!

This looks like a beautiful DIY project.

And of course, my home would never be complete without a place to grow my veggies :)
Just a glimpse, but enough to continue the flow of my creative juices!
What does your dream home look like?

  1. It's funny because I do have some dream home thoughts... porch all the way around the house is just one part of the plan. :) But we just bought our first house three months ago... it's nothing like I had ever dreamed of but as I sit here on my couch every day I am soooo incredibly happy with the house I got. It is absolutely perfect for my family right now.

Maybe someday I'll have a house with a porch all the way around but I'm already having a hard time seeing me living anywhere other than this house. I think I could grow old here. :)

  2. :) I love it. Although I'm pretty sure I'd totally botch a garden ;)

  3. I just stumbled upon your blog and I can't get enough! Follow my blog at emilyanncutillo.blogspot.com and we can be blog buddies :)

  9. Jon has been drawing up floor plans lately. We talk pretty near constantly about what we want and I actually caught him on my Pinterest account the other day looking at house stuff, ha! Jon...on Pinterest...

  10. Ooh, those wall beds are adorable! Anyway, I like your idea of simple living and having a home patterned to the life lessons you’ve learned. When you finally finish the plans for your dream home, I do hope you can share them with us. Good luck with it and have a great life with Chuck!
