My (Not So) Resolution

I don't believe in New Years' resolutions. I believe that making one simply because it is the start of a new calender year will likely not yield a very high success rate. I do, however, believe in making resolutions. Every day, people are making life-changing resolutions. Quitting smoking, eating more healthfully and exercising more. I continue to strive toward a healthy lifestyle regardless of the season.

There is one area, however, in which I am seriously lacking and hereby resolve to work toward. Academic organization. In other words, I slacked off more than I should have last semester and it's time for me to get my shit together. Having classes one day a week and feeling disconnected and confused about my professors' expectations led me to lose focus and I don't want to go down that road again.

So, with highlighters and academic planner in hand, I vow to be as organized as possible in regards to all my school assignments. I will review all my daily, weekly, monthly readings and assignments each week and devote time to writing down all my papers, projects and due dates in my agenda planner. Every time I complete one, I will get sweet satisfaction out of highlighting my completed assignment in a variety of neon colors. I truly believe this is my sole hurdle to overcome in my graduate career, so if I continue to be diligent,...4.0, here I come!
